The For HR & Managers pages walk a whole job from start to finish. This section does the opposite. It takes the screens one at a time and explains what each one is for, what the fields mean, and what happens when you press Save.
Use it when you are already looking at a screen and want to know what something does.

Things that are true of almost every screen
Section titled “Things that are true of almost every screen”Rather than repeat these on all ninety-odd screens, they are collected here once. Nearly every list screen in the system works the same way.
The list is the main event. Most screens open on a table of existing records. If it is empty, that does not mean the screen is broken — it means nothing has been created yet.
Search and filters sit above the table. Searching narrows the list as you type. Filters usually include the things you would expect for that screen — department, status, date range.
The button that creates a new record is usually top right. It is normally labelled Add or Create, followed by the name of the thing.
Actions on a row are at the right-hand end of that row. View, edit and delete, usually as small icons. Some screens hide these behind a single menu button.
A red asterisk means the field is required. The form will not save without it, and will tell you which field is missing.
Deleting is usually permanent. Most screens ask you to confirm. There is no general undo and no recycle bin, so read the confirmation before agreeing to it.
