Your Equipment
If your organization has issued you a laptop, a phone, a vehicle or anything else it owns, it is recorded here.
What you have
Section titled “What you have”Go to Asset Management → Assets.
Each item shows what it is, how it is identified — a serial or asset number — and that it is assigned to you.
The point of this screen is that both you and your organization can answer the question “what does this person currently have?” without anybody trying to remember.
What you cannot do here
Section titled “What you cannot do here”You cannot assign equipment to yourself, reassign it, or mark it returned. Those are done by whoever manages assets, so the record reflects what actually happened rather than what someone intended.
If this screen does not match reality, tell HR or your administrator — and do it when you notice, not when someone asks.
Common questions
Section titled “Common questions”Something I was given is not listed. It may not have been recorded yet. Tell whoever issued it.
Something I returned is still listed. Tell HR, so the record is closed properly.
Something is listed that I have never had. Say so promptly. It is usually a mix-up between two people with similar names, and it is much easier to correct now than at the end of your employment.
Am I liable for these items? That depends on your organization’s policy, not on this system. This screen is the record of what you hold; the policy is a separate document, probably in Your Documents.
